Spicy Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

2 pounds (900g) Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes, peeled and cubed

3 tablespoons Kutral Merken Paste

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

½ cup milk (or heavy cream for a richer texture)

1-2 garlic cloves, minced (optional for extra flavor)

Salt to taste

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Boil the Potatoes: Place the peeled and cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are fork-tender.

Prepare the Spicy Butter Mix: While the potatoes are boiling, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic (if using) and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the Kutral Merken Paste and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Mash the Potatoes: Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot or a large mixing bowl. Use a potato masher or ricer to mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy.

Mix it Up: Pour the spiced butter mixture into the mashed potatoes, add the milk or heavy cream, and season with salt and pepper. Stir until everything is well combined and creamy. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.

Garnish and Serve: Transfer the spicy mashed potatoes to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired.
